Admissions workflow

Google Forms notification add-on for admissions

Admissions and application forms often need two parallel email paths: one for the internal reviewer or shared inbox, and one for the applicant who wants confirmation that the submission was received. FormNotifier keeps that workflow close to the Google Form itself, with owner alerts, applicant confirmations, preflight checks, and test sends before the form goes live.

Why admissions forms need more than passive storage

A form response sitting in a spreadsheet is not the same thing as an admissions workflow that people can trust.

Reviewer visibility

Make sure a program coordinator, admissions inbox, or reviewer list actually sees each submission quickly.

Applicant reassurance

Send a clear confirmation so applicants know their form was received successfully.

Launch confidence

Run Preflight and Send test before opening the form to real applicants.

Less manual checking

Reduce the need for staff to keep opening the response sheet just to see if anything arrived.

Recommended admissions setup

  1. Open the admissions form in edit mode and launch FormNotifier from Extensions.
  2. Enable owner alerts for the reviewer or admissions inbox.
  3. Add extra recipients if the same submission should also reach a second reviewer or shared mailbox.
  4. Enable respondent confirmation and select the correct applicant email source.
  5. Keep the applicant message short: receipt confirmation, next step, and realistic follow-up timing.
  6. Run Preflight, save, and use Send test before the public application link is shared.
For admissions flows, the most useful email is often the clearest one. A reviewer alert should help triage quickly, while an applicant confirmation should reduce uncertainty.

What to verify before launch

Correct applicant email source

Make sure the confirmation is not pulling from the wrong form field.

Reviewer routing

Confirm the owner alert reaches the right coordinator or shared admissions inbox.

Template boundaries

Do not promise acceptance, timeline guarantees, or case-specific outcomes in the automatic confirmation.

Recent send result

After a test and one real submission, check the latest send result in the sidebar.

Boundary: FormNotifier helps with submission notifications and confirmation emails inside Google Forms. It is not a full applicant-tracking system, review workflow engine, or CRM.
