Evaluate Choice Sync for update safety
Run Preflight, inspect the exact added/removed/unchanged diff, review duplicate and look-alike labels with Choice Hygiene, and explicitly approve the output before Update now.

A ChoiceTide alternative for careful Sheets-backed choice updates
Choice Sync is a Google Forms add-on for owners who want to inspect choice changes before updating a form. ChoiceTide also addresses Sheet-backed choices, with optional capacity workflows. Choose based on your actual task, not a blanket replacement claim.
Which workflow fits?
Evaluate ChoiceTide for its own workflow
If Sheet-backed choices with optional capacity are central to your process, check ChoiceTide's current documentation and test a copied form. This comparison does not assert ChoiceTide pricing or claim that it lacks any safety feature.
For rare changes, manually copying a checked list from Sheets into Forms may be enough. A successful editor update does not prove that a live workflow is safe.
Choice Sync safety boundaries
- Preflight: check source access and mappings; resolve warnings before writing choices.
- Exact diff before update: review added, removed, and unchanged choices. Choice Hygiene recommendations do not rewrite your source Sheet.
- Narrow file access: selected files via drive.file rather than broad Drive access. Read the permissions explanation; selected-file access is not a claim of zero permissions.
- Recovery: Five bounded recovery versions with live-drift checks before restore. Keep a copied form; recovery is not unlimited backup.
- Not live capacity locking: Choice Sync is not a booking system, payment flow, inventory lock, or respondent-time dependent dropdown.
Test before switching
- Keep the current workflow and copy the form.
- Select one Sheet column with Alpha and Beta, then map one supported question.
- Run Preflight, review the exact diff, approve it, and use Update now.
- Open the public respondent preview and verify both values before touching the live form.
